Agnes was “rescued” by Humane Society of the Dunes from Northwest Indiana (NWI) in March 2023. She was originally at IACS Shelter Rescue Team (formerly called IACS Rescue) and Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) before Humane Society of the Dunes pulled her. The founder of the rescue is Jane Hullsiek. When Agnes was originally posted by the shelter, she needed rescue because she had bad teeth and needed dental surgery, and had masses that needed to be removed. Because she wasn’t rescued for a while, she ended up having the needed procedures while still at the IACS shelter. She still ended up going to Humane Society of the Dunes after that.
Agnes’s story is similar to Keisha’s which we posted yesterday because they left the shelter on the same day. She left the shelter on March 12, 2023 as shown by her freedom ride photo, posted by the IACS Rescue page. The same day, Jane sent an update photo of Agnes lying on a couch under a blanket.
In February 2024, the Humane Society of the Dunes Facebook page (now deleted) posted a series of unusual “updates” on many animals, most of whom came from IACS. She stated “Agnes loves to sleep under her blankets” and provided the same photo from the day she had left the shelter nearly a year previous.
For Keisha, Agnes, and many of the other animals she “updated” about in February 2024, why did she provide photos from the days they left the shelter instead of more recent photos?
Where is Agnes today? If you have proof of her current whereabouts, we will pay you $100 because we want to know what happened to Agnes. If you adopted her, surely you’ll be happy to share an update on Agnes to the people at the shelter who knew and loved her?
