Keisha was “rescued” by Humane Society of the Dunes in March 2023. She was originally at IACS Shelter Rescue Team (formerly called IACS Rescue) and Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) before HSotD pulled her. The founder of the rescue is Jane Hullsiek. Keisha needed rescue from the shelter because she had bad teeth and needed dental surgery.

She left the shelter on March 12, 2023 as shown by her freedom ride photo, posted by the IACS Rescue page. The same day, Jane sent an update photo of Keisha lying on a floral sheet.

A facebook post from March 12, 2023 from the IACS Rescue page. The post reads 'We haven't had enough of seeing freedom rides today! Here is another! Agnes, Keisha, and Kiwi all got their FREEDOM RIDE today with Humane Society of the Dunes! Thank you Jane for driving down to pick them up quickly!' There is a photo-collage featuring the three dogs in kennels. Photos are closely cropped but presumably the kennels are in a car.

In February 2024, the Humane Society of the Dunes Facebook page (now deleted) posted a series of unusual “updates” on many animals, most of whom came from IACS. She stated “Keisha has become a sweetheart says her adopted family” and provided the same photo from the day she had left the shelter nearly a year previous.

A screenshot from Humane Society of the Dunes, dated February 3, 2024. The post reads 'Keisha has become a sweetheart says her adopted family'. The photo is the same floral sheet background photo from March 12, 2023.
An ‘update’ on Keisha from February 2024 using the same photo from the previous year.

Where is Keisha today? If you have proof of her current whereabouts, we will pay you $100 because we want to know what happened to Keisha. If you adopted her, surely you’ll be happy to share an update on Keisha to the people at the shelter who knew and loved her?
