‼️$200 for proof of Oppie’s whereabouts today. Have you seen him? If you fostered or adopted him, or if you know something, please reach out!!‼️ Please share this post!
Oppie was “rescued” by Humane Society of the Dunes on April 3, 2022. He was originally at IACS Shelter Rescue Team (formerly called IACS Rescue) and Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) before HSotD pulled him. The founder of the rescue is Jane Hullsiek and the rescue is based out of Chesterton in Northwest Indiana (NWI).
Oppie was “rescue only” at the Indy shelter because he had yeasty, itchy skin and swollen ears and feet. He needed a rescue to provide some TLC and a good diet/meds. At the shelter he was said to do well with other dogs, was extremely housebroken and volunteers described him as a “sweetpea who loves cuddles and being close for affection” and “a very sweet gentleman”.
Although he was pulled in spring 2022, Humane Society of the Dunes never posted anything about Oppie until February 2024, when they posted a number of unusual “updates” over a 24 hour period on animals they had pulled from IACS.
In her post about Oppie, Jane stated, “Oppie is a real card but I hear he chases kitties!”. The photo was taken by Jane in her own home as evidenced by the distinctive rug and the wooden baseboards which are shown in many of the photos she supplied as “updates”. In the photo, Oppie’s skin still looks red and inflamed and his ears still look swollen and red, and our suspicion is the photo was taken very soon after he arrived at her house from IACS. This is not what we would consider to be a REAL update on Oppie.
Once again, there is $200* available for anyone with information about Oppie who can provide a real update on him with proof.
If you adopted, fostered, or just know what happened to Oppie after he arrived at Humane Society of the Dunes, we would love to speak with you and will pay for the privilege.
