‼️‼️$200 offered for information about Topanga the cat’s whereabouts‼️‼️

Topanga was “rescued” by Humane Society of the Dunes on March 27, 2020. She was originally at IACS Shelter Rescue Team (formerly called IACS Rescue) and Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) before HSotD pulled her. The founder of the rescue is Jane Hullsiek. Topanga needed rescue from the shelter because she had some broken teeth and needed a dental surgery. She was described as a little shy when she first arrived at the Indy shelter but was starting to like affection by the time she was rescued.

Within a few days of going to Humane Society of the Dunes, Jane posted a comment on the “freedom ride” photo of Topanga and other cats who went to the rescue the same day, stating that Topanga had a vet visit scheduled for Monday and definitely needed a dental.

Nothing further was ever posted about Topanga by Humane Society of the Dunes, and their Facebook page has now been deleted. She’d be about 11 years old now. Topanga was one of 110+ animals taken by the Humane Society of the Dunes which is in Chesterton (northwest Indiana) a few hours’ drive from Indianapolis. Very few updates were ever shared about any of the animals they “rescued”, and those that were posted have questionable legitimacy.

We are offering $100 for proof of Topanga’s whereabouts today and a generous donor is also offering $100. If you know where she is, reach out, even if you aren’t her foster or adopter. If you know what happened to her or any of the other animals Humane Society of the Dunes pulled from IACS between 2019 and 2023, we’d like to hear from you, desperately. Anonymous submissions are welcome on our website. The time to speak up is now.
