Baloo
Baloo was “rescued” by Humane Society of the Dunes in November 2022. He was originally at IACS Shelter Rescue Team (formerly called IACS Rescue) and Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) before HSotD pulled him. The founder of the rescue is Jane Hullsiek, and the rescue is based out of Chesterton in Northwest (NWI).
Baloo was “rescue only” at the Indy shelter because he was found barely able to move. He was given supportive care at IACS including IV fluids, and was doing a little better but didn’t have much appetite. Further diagnostics including bloodwork and x-rays were warranted but had not yet been done when he was posted for rescue by the shelter.
Humane Society of the Dunes pulled Baloo and never posted any updates about him. Did he go to a foster home? Did he get the medical care he needed? Did they find him an adopter? They have recently deleted their Facebook page, and emails asking for updates have recently been met with rudeness and hostility, with no updates provided.
We are offering $100 for proof of Baloo’s whereabouts today. He’d be about 9-10 years old now. If you fostered or adopted him, or if you know something, please reach out.
